The Troutline Creek Placer occurrence is located about 94 kilometres north of the community of Dease Lake.

Troutline Creek was worked from 1874 to 1885 and fifty-one kilograms (1799 ounces) of gold were extracted. The source of the gold is probably from gold-bearing quartz veins in the Upper Paleozoic Sylvester Allochthon (Slide Mountain Complex) metasediments and greenstones through which Troutline Creek passes.
